Twilight

I am addicted...I admit it. I fully admit that it is in my personality to become a little obsessive about things...I have always kept things out of sentimental value (including food wrappers) and when I really love a book or a movie I sometimes become a *little* emotionally invested. I have become like this over the Twilight series books. I know I am silly but the books were really good! I love the characters and the book has a lot to say about our choices in life, good and evil, finding out about who we are as people. It reminded me of falling in love for the first time and how, especially in high school when you are (usually) feeling these emotions for the first time, intense these feelings are. Anyway, I give these books my endorsement and I can't wait for the fourth and final book in the series to come out August 2nd. So there, I admit it...I have become invested.

That said..................................................................................................................................................

I visited Forks, Washington where the book was set. I know, silly maybe? A little obsessive? I already explained myself. I had fun and we got to see awesome stuff....including a rain forest and the coast. Here are some pics of the Forks/Hoh rain forest/coast.

I bet they do. I think most of the town is embarrassed at people like me. Coming to a town because of a book. Silly people, what are they thinking?

This is where we went to get directions to the beach, through La Push. They were very excited to know why we were visiting and we flat out denied the real reason...but we got put into the book as visitors from Colorado. I bet they have 20 times the amount of people coming through Forks now because of Twilight. Can you see the sign in the window?

A couple places that are in the book.

Seriously, the hospital is like 4 small houses put together. It is weird.

This tree is over 550 years old! Awesome! Does it look rain foresty to you?

Another picture I love of us.

I thought this was just a cool pic.

Gillian freezing at Third Beach at the coast. She was pretty mad I made us drive in the car all day to see a real place full of fictional characters...kids they just don't understand!

By the way, doesn't the scene look like the ending of the movie Goonies when they get rescued? Remember how the ship started sailing away into the ocean? I swear they filmed that movie here.
